Rabuka seeks forgiveness for 1987 coup from SODELPA members
Newly appointed SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka

Newly appointed SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka showed his deep regret for the 1987 coups.

While presenting the ‘matanigasau’, Rabuka asked for forgiveness from the party president Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, former leader Ro Teimumu Kepa and other members of the party.

While presenting the tabua, Rabuka said that this is to ask for forgiveness from those who are still hurt from the coups in 1987 especially from the women of this nation and those who have lost their loved ones during the 87 coups.

He adds that he regrets starting the coup culture.

Rabuka sought for forgiveness from those who got hurt, were tortured and those who lost their loved ones.

He says that he is aware that it is hard for some to accept what he had done but he is pleading for their support for a new Fiji.

Rabuka also says that he has forgiven members of SODELPA who did not have any confidence in him in the last party leader election where he was not considered as a candidate.

He adds that he even forgave his son-in-law who almost killed his daughter and is now a member of parliament.

Rabuka says that if we really want to save our nation, we need to forgive each other and love one another.

He also asked Ro Teimumu Kepa to tell her supporters to keep on supporting the party.
