National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad has been taken into CID for questioning this morning.

The NFP posted on their Facebook page this morning that Professor Prasad is being questioned over what the party claims are malicious, frivolous and highly defamatory claims of indecently annoying a female reported to police by dumped NFP proposed candidate Hiroshi Taniguchi and his wife.

The NFP also stated that the CID had contacted Professor Prasad on Monday night to interview him today.

The NFP Leader had asked if he could do his CID interview tomorrow after post-Diwali prayers signifying the new year in the Hindu calendar to be held today.

However the party says the CID turned up this morning at 9am at the NFP Headquarters and called the Leader saying that they wanted to interview him right away. The NFP Leader had to abruptly end the prayers at home and rushed to the NFP HQ.

He was taken by the CID officers at 9.24am.

His lawyers are with him at CID.

We have sent questions to Police.
