Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem points to the elections clock

The Fijian Elections Office has activated the election clock.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says this election clock is very significant because there are certain activities in the electoral calendar that will need to be done at a specific time or before a specific time.

He says with nominations and appeals and deadlines where there is a time written in the law, they will be following the time that is on the clock.

He says the Fijian Elections Office will be running the same clock at their Toorak office as well.

Saneem further says registrations is in full swing, and they are telling all Fijians that they do not have much time before registration for the 2022 general election closes and after that, they will not take any new registrations.

Saneem stresses the green voter card has expired and is not a valid card however, if you turn up to the right polling station on election day, you will be treated as a person who did not bring a valid ID and they will be able to ask you some questions to verify that it is you on the voter list and you will be able to vote.

Voter registration closes at 6pm today.

You can text your voter card number to 1500 to find out where you will be voting.
