Fiji Water Flying Fijians head coach Simon Raiwalui has admitted that they had their chances to release the ball wide but they did not and Portugal capitalised on it and put pressure on them as they lost 24-23 this morning.

Raiwalui says they thought they had done enough, but there are several areas to work on and they need to get those basics right.

He says they are disappointed to lose the game, but they are happy to qualify for the quarter finals for the first time since 2007.

He adds they have a lot to work on as they prepare for next week’s quarter final against England.

Meanwhile, Portugal head coach Patrice Lagisquet says it was a fantastic moment.

Lagisquet says the players surprised him one more time and he knew they were capable of going into the last bit of action.

He says he could not look at the scoreboard and it is not the first time they have played that kind of trick on him.

The Flying Fijians will play England in the third cup quarter final at 3am next Monday in Marseille.

In other RWC quarter finals, Wales will play Argentina at 3am Sunday, Ireland will take on the All Blacks at 7am on Sunday and hosts France will play South Africa at 7am next Monday.
