Fiji flags to be at half-mast in honour of Ratu Epeli Nailatikau
In honour of former President and Speaker of Parliament the late Na Turaga Mai Naisogalaca, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Fiji flag be flown at half-mast, effective from today until further notice.

The Cabinet, in a statement, says this gesture reflects the nation’s respect and recognition of his lifelong service and contribution to Fiji.


They say two condolence books have also been opened for those wishing to pay their respects. 

The condolence books will be available from Tuesday 7th April through to Friday 17th April 2026 from 9am to 4pm.

A condolence book for the Diplomatic Corps is available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade office while a public condolence book is available at the Ministry of Information Media Room, Ground Floor, New Wing, Government Buildings.

Members of the public and the diplomatic community are encouraged to visit and sign the condolence books as the nation mourns the passing of a former President of Fiji who dedicated his life to national service.

The Cabinet is yet to confirm details of Ratu Epeli's funeral. 

Ratu Epeli passed away on Thursday night.
