The streets of Suva came alive this morning as the 70th FMF Hibiscus Festival reached its final day with a colourful float parade from the Suva Flea Market to Albert Park.
The parade brought together families, supporters, contestants and members of the public as generations of Fijians came out to celebrate one of the country’s longest-running and most cherished festivals.
For seven decades, the Hibiscus Festival has been part of Fiji’s cultural and social fabric, creating memories for generations of people who have grown up attending its events, cheering on contestants and enjoying the celebrations.
This morning’s float parade added another vibrant chapter to that history, with colourful floats making their way through the streets of Suva as the city marked the final day of this year’s celebrations.
The excitement will continue this hour, when the winners of Best Float, Miss Personality, Miss Photogenic and Miss People’s Choice will be announced, alongside the crowning of Miss Charity.
The biggest moment of the festival will come tonight, with the announcement of the first and second runners-up, followed by the crowning of Miss Hibiscus 2026 from 6.30pm to 8pm.
