Police have retrieved the body of the 43-year-old truck driver who passed away in an accident in Koroboya in Ba yesterday afternoon.

This has been confirmed by the man’s brother, Hirdesh Nand who says the body has been taken to the Ba Hospital and a post mortem exam is expected to be conducted tomorrow.

Police say the man from Lautoka was driving a truck loaded with pine logs when he allegedly lost control while driving down a slope at around 3pm yesterday.

A resident of a nearby settlement alerted the authorities after discovering the truck on its side.

Police say the man was trapped underneath the logs, was unresponsive, and attempts to get him out until this morning were unsuccessful due to the site of the accident.
