A Police officer who is alleged to be the driver involved in the hit and run accident along Milverton Road over the weekend has been charged and will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court today.
Police say the officer is charged with one count of dangerous driving occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of failure to comply with requirements following an accident.
They say the 23-year old victim is still admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
Police say initial information gathered on the vehicle registration has been ruled out, however, investigators managed to track down the same vehicle seen in the CCTV footage with a different registration.
