Police are investigating two cases of arson after a home in Nadi was destroyed and the FSC Rarawai Mill was damaged in two separate incidents.

Police says a 48-year-old man was taken into custody after he allegedly set fire to his home on Saravi Road in Nadi following an argument with his wife.

They say a joint investigations continue with the National Fire Authority.

Police say the FSC Rarawai Mill fire was reported at the Ba Police Station on Saturday

The conveyor belt and electrical wires were damaged, as a result of the fire.

Police are looking into an alleged arson case as the cause and cost of damage are yet to be determined.

The second fire case was also received on Saturday in Gaji Road in Raiwaqa.

Police say a two-bedroom house belonging to a 70-year-old woman was completely destroyed in a fire, and it is believed to have started in one of the bedrooms where her grandson was playing.

The Sigatoka Police Station received a house fire report in Korolevu yesterday.

They say a one-bedroom home belonging to a 35-year-old hotel worker was destroyed in the fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The house was vacant at the time of the incident, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Police also received a report yesterday that a bulk warehouse in Narewa, Nadi, was partially destroyed in a fire.

The estimated cost of damage is around $30,000.
