Police escalate efforts to search for the missing 7-year-old Taveuni boy

Police have escalated their efforts to search for the missing 7-year-old, Chirag Murti of Qila Settlement in Taveuni.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro has confirmed that more officers were pushed from Suva to assist with the search efforts.

Today is the 12th day since Chirag was reported missing from his home on 12th November. Chirag’s father, Shyam Murti says so far the search has been conducted by a ten-member police team from Suva since Sunday but there has been no sign of his son.

He says some villagers and a few people from Labasa have also come to help him find his son but Chirag’s disappearance still remains a mystery.

Murti is pleading to the public to pray for his son’s wellbeing.

He had told fijivillage that his son who cannot speak was alone at the back while his other twin brother, sister and an older brother were playing in the front compound.

Murti says his son was wearing a red t-shirt and blue shorts.

If you have information that could locate 7-year-old Chirag Murti then please call the Taveuni Police Station on 888 0222 or Chirag’s father on 9326516.
