Police have commended the actions of bystanders who assisted in the arrest of a 20-year-old man following an aggravated robbery case in Suva Point on Sunday night.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the two victims were walking near the Suva Point Seawall when the suspect and two others robbed them of their phones and personal items.

ACP Khan says a group of bystanders who came to the assistance of the two men pursued the three suspects and they were able to apprehend the 20-year-old suspect.

He says the identity of the other two suspects is established.

The Chief Operation Officer also commended the brave actions of all those involved in the arrest, and the suspect sustained injuries and was taken for medical treatment as investigations continue.
