Police classify death of 16-year-old in Raiwaqa on Sunday as murder

Police have classified the death of the 16-year-old boy who was pronounced dead at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital on Sunday as murder.

Initial information gathered by Police which is subject to investigation is that the victim was drinking with other youths in Raiwaqa and was playing around when someone tackled him to the ground.

They say the others sought help when they noticed the victim lying motionless.

Police investigations continue.
