Police Chief Of Operations, ACP Abdul Khan has resigned.

He has resigned after being in the force for 29 years.

We have received information that ACP Khan decided to leave as he did not see the need for the military to be called in to assist the Police with security operations as he believed the force had everything under control.

Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says ACP Khan has resigned from the force citing personal reasons.

Qiliho says he has accepted his resignation after the decision was reached on mutual understanding and he respects his decision to resign from the organisation.

Qiliho says he wishes him well on his future endeavours and thanked him for his service.

Senior Superintendent of Police Livai Driu the Commanding Officer Police Special Response Unit will take up the post of Chief Operations Officer and has been promoted to Acting Commissioner of Police this morning.

We are also awaiting the confirmation from Police on the number of reports received against minority groups, the number of verified reports, the verified social media posts, and those under investigation.

fijivillage News is awaiting the response from Police.
