The Ministry of Health is requesting members of the public who were present at the MPAiSA Booth in Navua Town between 12pm to 3pm on Tuesday 6th July to please call 158 or 9985956.

The Ministry says this is part of their ongoing contact tracing of members of the public and these people may have come into contact with COVID-19 cases.

The Health Ministry is conducting screening and testing to minimise local and community transmission of COVID-19.

Residents of Navua are reminded to strictly observe all COVID-19 measures when travelling or when in public spaces.

Meanwhile some residents of Navua are seriously concerned about the number of people who are coming into Navua from the Lami Suva Nausori Containment Zone.

They say Navua has not had any cases of COVID-19 in this current outbreak and they fear that the movement of people from containment to non-containment zones can result in them having cases.

The residents say they cannot understand why people are even moving from containment to non containment areas.

They are concerned that some areas like Waidradra and Pacific Harbour has positive cases according to the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 Dashboard.

A resident says Namelimeli Village which is right opposite the hospital is cordoned off and this also concerns them as they are unaware if there are cases there.

Meanwhile, the movement of people from non-containment to containment zones for both land and maritime travel started last month as over 8,000 Fijians had registered to return home.
