Food rations have been distributed to the affected families in Barara, Navakai and Naisoso-Taiperia in Lautoka as Prime Minister Sitiveni concluded his two-day visit to flood-affected areas in parts of the Central and Western Divisions.

Rabuka says Divisional and NDMO Teams will carry out detailed damage assessments from tomorrow as the rain has stopped.

He says the initial assessment carried out earlier this week was halted when the deluge of rain resumed.

The Prime Minister has once again assured people that the Coalition Government stands ready to provide the much-needed assistance and support.

He has also extended his blessings to all the children of Fiji for a blessed Palm Sunday.
