The Ovalau Rugby Union side is psyched up and ready to battle the Naitasiri Northern Bulls this weekend when the two sides meet in round 3 of the Vodafone Vanua Championship this weekend.

Coach Viliame Rokogu says after their win over Rewa last two weeks, they have tried to set the standards higher for this weekend’s game knowing the threats that the Northern Bulls will bring into this game.

Rokogu says he has so much confidence in his team this year and they are ready to defend their home turf this weekend.

He says they are taking every game as it comes and even though they lost to Nasinu in the first round, they are still confident they can achieve their goal of getting back into the major union next year which is the Skipper Cup Competition.

Rokogu says the team has a really good mix of young and experienced players and he believes his players have what it takes to restore the lost glory that Ovalau was once known for.

Ovalau will host Naitasiri Northern Bulls at 3pm Saturday at Nasau Park.

In other Vanua Championship matches this weekend, Malolo will take on Navosa, Serua will play Lautoka, Cakaudrove will take on Northland, Nanukuloa will host Bua, Rewa will play Nasinu, Tavua will take on Ba and Ra will host Vatukoula.

All games will kick off at 3pm.
