A new format will be in place at the HSBC Cape Town 7s this weekend where there will be no quarter finals played but pool winners automatically qualify for the semi finals.

The Cape Town 7s will have 4 pools with three teams in each pool as only 12 core teams are participating in this new HSBC SVNS Series season that kicked off last week in Dubai.

The Fiji Airways Fiji Men’s 7s are in Pool A alongside Great Britain and Uruguay and every game is crucial for them as a loss could cost them a place in the knockout stage.

Dubai 7s Cup finalist Spain heads Pool B and will play Australia and Kenya.

Pool C will have Argentina, South Africa and Ireland while NZ is in Pool D alongside France and the USA.

Fiji will kick off their Cape Town 7s campaign against Uruguay at 12.38am Sunday before playing Great Britain at 4.38am Sunday in their second pool match.

The Men’s Cup semi finals start at 11.56pm Sunday, with the cup final at 5.11am Monday.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s play both their games on Saturday night taking on the USA at 7pm before facing Great Britain at 10.16pm.
