Some people living within the Lami containment area have highlighted that they have not faced any major issues of shortage of food however sugar is out of stock in many of the shops and supermarkets.

A Lami resident, Inoke Kalounisiga says he went out shopping this morning and saw 90 percent of the people that were out wearing masks and maintaining social distancing inside the supermarkets.

Kalounisiga says he had just noticed a few things that were not on the shelves, but it was not really an issue for him.

Another resident Mohammed Yusuf says apart from the shortage of sugar that they are facing now, the only other problem is that majority of the people cannot come to work.

RB Patel General Manager Operations Jignesh Chauhan says there is no shortage of sugar or any other supply in their supermarkets however they are facing logistical challenges of getting their stock like flour and sugar to cross multiple zones.
