The new Naduri Community Police Post was officially opened by the Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua while visiting the Police in the Northern division.

The Naduri Community Post area of operations covers 14 villages, 18 settlements, 4 Estates, 1 secondary school, 3 primary schools, and 2 resorts and the two Islands of Kia and Macuata I wai.

Tikoduadua acknowledged the people of the Macuata Province for their initiative in partnering with the Fiji Police Force for the sake of their children's safety and well-being.

He says the traditional role of the police is to react to crime, they answer to the law, and once the law has been compromised then the police come in.

He also says the community is where offences are committed, and in the community as well is where it is best prevented.

Tikoduadua further says keeping the communities safe is foremost the responsibility of the community.

The Minister applauded this great initiative and says he hopes that other communities will partner with them to prevent crime and keep our communities safe.

The Naduri Community Post will be manned by 8 police officers.
