The Fiji Bitter Namalata 7s tournament is aiming to empower grassroot talents through sports in Kadavu.
Organising Committee Malakai Yamaivava says they believe that the time is now to raise the level of competition in rural areas.
He says they will try to have the same standard of competition as those played on the mainland, and he is looking forward to the tournament.
Yamaivava adds they are thankful that Communications Fiji Limited has shown their support as the media partners for the tournament.
32 men’s, 16 youths and 8 women’s teams are expected to participate in this tournament which will also have volleyball and netball competition.
The Fiji Bitter Namalata 7s will be held from the 5th to the 7th of next month at Namalata Central School ground, Kadavu.
