Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s winger Vuiviawa Naduvalo

Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s winger Vuiviawa Naduvalo has been rated as one of the players to watch heading into this weekend’s HSBC Cape Town 7s after an outstanding performance in Dubai over the weekend.

Naduvalo’s pace was instrumental for Fiji throughout the Dubai 7s tournament and was the hero for the side after racing away 60 metres untouched at the stroke of full time to steal a 19-17 win over France in the quarter final.

The 28-year-old did not only end there as he caused havoc for Argentina in the semi finals by competing for possession on the kickoffs and was able to cover some of the fastest wingers in the world defensively.

Naduvalo’s pace will be a lethal weapon for Fiji this weekend, especially coming up against teams like Uruguay and Great Britain, who have some of the game’s fastest ball runners.

Fiji will kick off their Cape Town 7s campaign against Uruguay at 12.38am Sunday before playing Great Britain at 4.38am Sunday in their second pool match. The Men’s Cup semi finals start at 11.56pm Sunday, with the cup final at 5.11am Monday. Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s play both their games on Saturday night, taking on the USA at 7pm before facing Great Britain at 10.16pm.
