More than 290 people are currently taking shelter in various evacuation centres in the Central, Western and the Eastern Divisions.

The National Disaster Risk Management Office says 8 evacuation centres are active in the Western Division, 3 in the Eastern Division, and 1 remains open in the Central Division.

These centres are currently accommodating more than 290 evacuees from over 100 households who have been safely relocated from affected areas.

Members of the public are urged to stay alert, follow official updates, and avoid unnecessary travel, especially through flooded areas.

If you need information on active evacuation centres, please call the Divisional Operation Centres: Central on 9907876, Western on 9984038, and Eastern on 7775487.

Meanwhile, police say they will continue to be on standby and, in any case of emergency, will be the first responders.
