While officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa says Nabouwalu will be amongst the first towns where town planners will ensure that all urban planning principles are applied.

He says as they address the pressing issue of climate change, they remain mindful of Bua's natural beauty and biodiversity.

He further says their new town will not just meet immediate needs but anticipate and adapt to a changing climate.

Nalumisa adds the town will feature green spaces as carbon sinks, rely on renewable energies and implement water management systems for resource efficiency, setting a benchmark for eco-friendly urban planning an enhance emphasizing the government’s focus on sustainability.
