Iran has struck the southern Israeli city of Dimona with a missile, injuring at least 47 people.

The apparent target was a nuclear facility located about 13 km away.

The attack comes following a strike on Iran's Natanz nuclear facility.

US Central Command said Tehran's ability to threaten ships in the Strait of Hormuz has been “degraded” after the US bombing of an underground military facility earlier this week.

Tehran is the capital of Iran.

Meanwhile, Iranian forces have repeatedly targeted the Gulf throughout this conflict, prompting G7 foreign ministers to issue a statement calling for an “immediate” end to the strikes.

The foreign ministers also stated that they are prepared to take measures to support global energy supplies, as critical infrastructure continues to be targeted in the region.

Israel and the US have continued attacks on Tehran as locals marked the start of the new year in the country.
