National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says this is an opportune time for government and all of them as members of Parliament to show leadership and take a 35 percent pay cut.

He says the 35 percent pay cut should be for the Prime Minister, all Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, Permanent Secretaries and for positions right to the Director level.

He says there should be no pay cut below the Director level as they know people are going to suffer. Prasad says already people are losing jobs and are going on reduced hours.

Prasad adds the government has not come out clearly and stated what it can or cannot do to help the people and the businesses.

He also claims that the two Government Ministers who consulted the business community ended up blaming them for not coming up with good ideas.

The National Federation Party Leader says the government needs ideas and they are ready to help the government.
