Good news for the people of Naqara in Taveuni as the Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa has approved the plan for a new market and bus stand.
Taveuni District Officer, Abdul Hakim highlighted this while briefing the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development, Sakiasi Ditoka at the Taveuni District Office.
Hakim says they currently do not have a proper bus stand and market, which is reflected through its appearance.
He says the site for the construction is confirmed.
The District Officer further says the Savusavu Town will soon start working on the new rubbish dump which will be placed at a distance from the market and bus stand.
He adds that the Naqara and Wariki land have not been utilised as it should be and the Ministry of Local Government through town and country planning will re-zone the land so that it can be relocated according to the needs.
