A Medical Officer in his 20s has passed away while swimming in the Nausori River in Nalawa, Ra.
Police say the man had gone swimming with 2 others yesterday afternoon when he was swept away by strong currents.
They say help was sought from a nearby village where they managed to recover his body.
A post-mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
