Change Maker #6 - Shalini Lata

Shalini Lata is currently a Financial Controller for a civil engineering consulting firm that operates out of Nadi, in Fiji’s Western Division.

Shalini has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce majoring in Accounting and Management and currently pursuing her post-graduate studies in the same area.

She has 8 years of work experience in the Finance & Accounting plus Business Administration and Management sector as well.

Shalini is also a youth activist, mainly focusing on areas such as youth skill development and youth empowerment.

She has also been quite actively involved with NGO’s and social groups in both Viti Levu and Vanua Levu for the last 3 years.

Her desire to reach out to the less privileged in the community and assist the vulnerable members of society has been her driving force has seen her grow in her passion each day as it unfolds.

In 2018 she was selected as one of the candidates for the Young Entrepreneur Scheme with Fiji’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Shalini completed the course and attained certification.
