The Lau Education Charitable Trust has launched its social media platform for a new globally funded education initiative.

The social media platform was launched by co-patrons of the Trust, Adi Davila Toganivalu and Adi Elenoa Tuilau Mara, both from the chiefly Vuanirewa clan of the Tui Nayau in Lau.

Adi Davila says this is a rallying call to the people and friends of Lau to come together in unity to lead and work together to improve the education of children and youths of the province.

She says it’s a call for leadership, teamwork, unity and action.

Co-patron Adi Tuilau Mara says they are looking forward to supporting the Trust in its quest to help improve access to quality education for the children of Lau.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors Peni Toga Kacimaiwai who is from the Tui Devo clan of Salia, Nayau says the Trust will complement the good work that is already in place.

He says it aims to lift current standards, enhance outcomes and achieve excellence across the schools in Lau.

Kacimaiwai says a key principle that the work of the Trust is founded on is one of empowerment, that children are enabled, equipped, and resourced to grow and reach their full potential.

The trust is registered in Australia and the board of directors comprises a diverse team of Lauan professionals based in Fiji, New Zealand, China, Australia, Turkey, the USA and the Marshall Islands.
