Kolinisau wary of pool opponents’ game structure

Kolinisau wary of pool opponents’ game structure

Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Osea Kolinisau says they are in a tough pool at the HSBC Singapore 7s and knows the three teams they are coming up against have similar type of game structure that could be very dangerous.

Fiji is in Pool C alongside the USA, Great Britain and Ireland.

Kolinisau says these three teams will try and keep the ball away from Fiji as long as they can as they know what Fiji can produce when they have possession.

He says having Ireland in their pool as well is a great challenge knowing they are second in the overall standings and they will try and get past Ireland in the standings before heading into the final leg in Madrid.

When asked about two-time Olympic gold medallist and 7s Rugby World Cup winner Jerry Tuwai’s fitness, Kolinisau says it is coming along well and Jerry has dropped a few kilos since joining the team.

The Fiji Men will play the USA at 5.14pm next Friday in their first pool match before facing Great Britain at 10.30pm Friday. They will meet Ireland at 5.37pm on Saturday in their final pool match.

The Cup quarter finals will start at 11pm next Saturday, the semi finals will start at 5.48pm Sunday and the final will kick off at 10.21pm Sunday.
