The Kadavu Women’s rugby team has made history by qualifying for the Subrails Marama Cup semi-final for the first time after defeating Nadroga 31-29 in the first quarter-final.
Kadavu players, including Arieta Tonono, showcased brilliant skills on the field, with Tonono scoring two tries in the first half. At halftime, Kadavu was leading 26-10.
In the second half, Nadroga came back strong, scoring three tries to take the lead in the 73rd minute.
However, Kadavu responded in the final moments as Mereisi Nabobo sealed the winning try to secure their spot in the semi-final.
In other quarter-final matches, Nasinu will face Naitasiri at 11am at the same venue, while Suva takes on Lautoka at Churchill Park, also at 11am.
