Permanent Secretary for Education Anjeela Jokhan.

Permanent Secretary for Education Anjeela Jokhan has stressed that there is nothing wrong with the Queen Victoria School students who were seen dancing in a group during their Diwali celebrations.

The video of the students has gone viral on social media where they are not wearing masks and not maintaining physical distancing.

Some people have raised concerns as to why this has been allowed to go ahead because dancing will not be permitted in clubs, bars and taverns when they reopen on Thursday.

When questioned, Jokhan says these are boarding students who live there and they were just enjoying themselves.

She says they were in a safe bubble and are allowed to do this.

Jokhan adds people need to understand that the school is the students' home and not a nightclub, and people can dance in their homes.
