It is all about believing in our athletes - Marist Coach Raboiliku

Marist Brothers High School’s athletics coach, Antonio Raboiliku, believes there are potential athletes in the school, and they need to be nurtured well so they can produce results.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Raboiliku says his main strategy is believing in his athletes and working with them on areas they need to improve on.

He says they still have gold medal prospects such as Aporosa Lalabalavu and Haggai Sukanaivalu in the sprints and Ebennezar Saukuru in the javelin event.

He adds that former Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School sprinter Penaia Ramasirai have also joined the school this year.

Raboiliku says Ramasirai is still trying to blend in with the Marist way of doing things and is adapting slowly.

He says he will see how well Ramasirai has blended in the Zone competition.

Meanwhile, Alphonsus House was crowned the new champion of the Marist Brothers High School inter-house competition after collecting 17 gold, 15 silver and 15 bronze to claim the title from Claudius House, who have been champions for the last three years.

Claudius finished second with 17 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze, Lambert House finished in 3rd place with 11 gold, 18 silver and 4 bronze, while Augustine finished in 4th place with 7 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze.

Alphonsus was also awarded the most disciplined house of the 2-day event.
