The Police uniform will not be used for personal gain or betrayal of the public’s trust.
This has been stressed by Acting Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga after photos of a police officer and another woman in a compromising position at Navua Police Station have gone viral on social media.
Lutunauga says the allegations are serious and has demanded for investigation.
He says the police uniform is a symbol of hope and officers should not take advantage of the power that comes with it.
Lutunauga says he has directed an investigation where appropriate disciplinary action will be pursued if the allegations are true.
The Acting Commissioner is calling on everyone to report any matter of Police corruption or misconduct.
He adds that it is important for everyone to know that just because police officers have certain powers, they are not above the law.
