Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has stated that they have started an investigation into what appears to be excessive spending in the Department of Information.

The payments to foreign public relations company Qorvis, local company Vatis, and FBC and the Fiji Sun is under the spotlight.

Rabuka confirms the government has terminated the services of Qorvis and Vatis.

Rabuka also mentions Fiji Broadcasting Corporation and Fiji Sun Newspaper in the list of companies being investigated.

We sent questions to FBC CEO, Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum. We were referred to FBC Board Chairman, Sashi Singh.

Singh says the FBC Board acknowledges the Prime Minister’s decision to carry out investigations into FBC's operations.

He says the Board will provide all necessary information to complete the investigation.

fijivillage News is also trying to get Vatis Director, Arnold Chanel.
