The case of the 33-year-old man who died in Suva on Sunday after he was assaulted at McArthur Street, has been classified as murder.
Divisional Police Commander Central SP Farasiko Matawalu says the post-mortem exam has been completed, and investigators are working to identify the murder suspect.
When asked if the victim was assaulted outside a nightclub, Police say they are still trying to determine it.
They say they were alerted by medical authorities after the victim was brought to the CWM Hospital.
Police add that the man was rushed to the hospital after 1am and was admitted in critical condition until he passed away on Sunday afternoon.
