The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s captain Vatemo Ravouvou says Hong Kong is like a home ground to Fiji.

Speaking after the captain’s photoshoot at the So Kon Po Stadium yesterday, Ravouvou says because of the weather, Hong Kong is a Fijian home ground and the fans love to watch the Fiji 7s players in action along with their offloads and the style of game they play.

He says he has had good memories at the famous So Kon Po Stadium and he is excited about this weekend.

He adds they are looking to end the season well with the remaining 3 tournaments of the 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS World Series.

Fiji has won a total of 19 Hong Kong 7s titles and has been a finalist 30 times.

This will also be the last year that the Hong Kong 7s will be played at the So Kon Po Stadium.

Meanwhile, Fiji is currently sitting in 3rd place in the overall Men’s points table with 64 points while Argentina still leads the table with 90 points followed by Ireland with 70 points.

Fiji will begin their Hong Kong 7s campaign against Australia at 9.30pm tomorrow. They will then take on Canada at 12.33am Saturday and play France at 5.43pm Saturday in their final pool match. The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side will play Australia at 4.25pm tomorrow in their first match, followed by their match against South Africa at 7.12pm tomorrow, and they will play Ireland at 3.02pm Saturday in their final pool match. The Hong Kong 7s will be held from tomorrow to Sunday.
