Emele Delaivuna, a Year 12 student from Gospel High School, and Milili Batimala from CMF College are expected to feature in the Suva Women’s team that will play against Kadavu in the Marama Championship Rugby semi-final on Saturday.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, team manager Alisi Komaitai says it’s amazing to see how the students are able to balance school work and training at the same time.
Komaitai says two other players are students from the Fiji School of Medicine, while a few police officers and navy personnel are also part of the team.
She says discipline is a key factor that the players are constantly reminded of, as it helps them handle the pressure of the game.
The manager says the players are aware of the ability of their opponents, but they will give their best come game day.
Suva will meet Kadavu at 11am at the HFC Bank Stadium.
In the other semifinal, Nasinu will face Namosi at 9am at the same venue.
