Heavy rain causes flooding in Ba, water levels recede as weather improves

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding in parts of Ba, with Sarava and Veisaru remain affected with water levels now receding as the weather clears.

This was highlighted by residents to fijivillage this morning.

Police say that parts of Ba Town are under water due to heavy rain yesterday.

Residents in nearby areas have also reported flooding.

Nafiz Ali from Karavi says heavy rain between 5 pm and 6 pm yesterday caused water levels to rise, but the situation has improved as the weather cleared.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Kissun from Babriban, Ba, says Babriban and Balevuto is not experiencing flooding, though the area saw heavy rain yesterday.

Rhea Ranishka Prakash from Sarava Ba says they experienced flooding yesterday, but the water levels are going down.

Meanwhile, Shinal Chand from Nukuloa, Ba, says areas like Toge, Nasolo and nearby places were flooded yesterday,however, water levels are receding, and the weather is clear now.
