A heavy rain alert remains in force for the Northern and Eastern parts of Viti Levu, including Suva, Navua, Serua-Namosi, Tavua, Rakiraki, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, the Northern Division, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
The heavy rain alert for the rest of Fiji has been cancelled.
The Nadi Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure lies over the group and is slowly moving east, which is associated with cloud, showers, and rain.
They say the current weather situation is expected to affect the group until later today.
The forecast for affected areas includes occasional rain, which may be heavy at times, isolated thunderstorms and localised heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The Weather Office adds that localised flooding may impact vulnerable communities, businesses and low-lying areas, as well as minor roads and Irish Crossings and bridges, possibly disrupting traffic flow.
