A Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the Eastern half of Viti Levu from Serua, Namosi through Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups and nearby smaller islands.
The Nadi Weather Office says a moist easterly wind flow prevails over the country, while an active trough of low pressure is expected to affect the eastern parts of Fiji from tomorrow.
They say the forecast for tomorrow is for occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms for the Eastern half of Viti Levu from Serua, Namosi through Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups and nearby smaller islands.
The Weather Office says this may cause flash flooding of flood-prone, low-lying informal settlements/communities, businesses and Irish crossing leading to traffic disruptions, surface flooding on streets in urban areas with poor drainage, wet roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavy downpours, increasing the risk of road accidents.
