Health Minister says the knowledge of COVID-19 will continue to evolve

Health Minister says the knowledge of COVID-19 will continue to evolve

Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says the knowledge of COVID-19 will continue to evolve but what is very apparent is that natural immunity alone is not sufficient – one must be vaccinated, and they continue to encourage everyone to be vaccinated.

Dr Waqainabete made these comments at the handing over of Personal Protective Equipment and non-contact infrared thermometers from the Government of Korea and KOICA today.

With Fiji’s vaccination records heading towards a positive direction and ease of restrictions being implemented across the country, Dr Waqainabete acknowledged partners and stakeholders that have made this nationwide drive possible.

Dr Waqainabete says Fiji is entering the cyclone season so as a Ministry they are preparing themselves for whatever the climate will bring to us.

In handing over the COVID-19 supplies, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Fiji, Young-kyu Park says the donation will further strengthen the Fijian Government’s efforts to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
