Have an environment that is healthy and vibrant for the next generation to live in.

This was highlighted by the Co-Chair of Korea -South Pacific Ocean Forum, Professor Joeli Veitayaki during the Vakatabu Conference at Studio 6.

Doctor Veitayaki says the challenge for us is to create a world where we can live dignified lives and at the same time have an environment that continues to be healthy and vibrant.

He says replanting is the best solution to avoid erosion on the island and also on the mainland.

He adds that we need to advocate and work together in keeping the environment healthy because it is critical to our livelihood.

This conference aims to assist Fijian development practitioners and policymakers to rebuild and strengthen the agency, resilience and sustainability of Fiji’s resources.

The need to raise awareness about the relevancy of indigenous knowledge and concepts, and spirituality in the development aspirations of Fiji’s communities, and in national policy designs on economic and social development and education.
