Govt to deliberate on the resumption of schools and when civil servants return to work

The Government has yet to decide whether schools will open tomorrow and if all civil servants will return to work.

National Disaster Management Office Director, Vasiti Soko says the Ministry of Education and Civil Service are currently assessing with regards to the resumption of both school and civil service.

She says they are still collecting data from the district level and when they are able to firm up the information from district level through the Divisional Commissioners, they will be able to advise the members of the public.

A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the whole of Fiji Group and a Flood Warning remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Waimanu River and is now in force for Nadi River.

A Flood Alert remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Wainimala, Waidina, Wainibuka And Ba River Rivers.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in force for all flood prone areas, small streams and low lying areas of Vanua Levu and Viti Levu.

A trough of low pressure lies over the group. The associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country for the next few days.
