Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reassured those affected by the heavy rains and flooding experienced throughout the country over the past few days that the coalition government stands ready to provide them with necessary assistance and support. Rabuka visited flood-affected areas in the Central Division to assess the damages and was accompanied by a team of senior government officials to inspect areas affected including Waidamudamu, Dilkusha, and Nausori Village, to witness firsthand the extent of the devastation.

During his visit, Rabuka interacted with residents and listened to their concerns, in the wake of the bad weather.

He also held discussions with local authorities and emergency response teams to streamline relief operations and prioritize the allocation of resources to where they are most needed.

Rabuka emphasized the importance of collective actions to mitigate the impacts of the floods and restore normalcy to affected areas.

At the same time, Rabuka also extended his gratitude to frontline responders, volunteers, and organizations involved in relief efforts.

Commissioner Central Josefo Navuku, in a short presentation, informed the Prime Minister that initial damage assessments have been conducted with areas identified for quick fixes.
