Gov refutes misinformation, assures Fiji’s aviation oversight and international standing

The Government of Fiji through the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation strongly refutes the misinformation in a series of social media posts that have irresponsibly and inaccurately portrayed Fiji’s aviation licensing system as being in crisis.

Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka says these claims are not only factually incorrect but also recklessly misleading, and they threaten to undermine the credibility of Fiji’s aviation sector and its global reputation.

He says Fiji’s Licensing Regime Meets Global Standards and Fiji’s aviation licensing framework is fully aligned with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization and reflects international best practices.

Gavoka adds Fiji’s licensing processes are rigorous, transparent, and subject to regular oversight.

He says Fijian pilots continue to successfully convert their licenses for use in jurisdictions across the globe, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States , and Europe, a clear testament to the global trust in our system.
