Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s head coach Ben Gollings

Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s head coach Ben Gollings has revealed that having some of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians players in the squad for the upcoming 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS Festival will be an opportunity he cannot say no to.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Gollings says it will be great to have some of these players joining the 7s squad seeing how well they have played in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, but there are hurdles the management has to jump over since a lot of these players are contracted.

He says the 7s management has been building good relationships with those players and their clubs for their releases.

He further says the building of the relationship with most of these players’ clubs started before the RWC.

Gollings says at the moment, they will focus on rebuilding the current squad that they have as most of them have been working really hard.

The Olympics 7s is scheduled to be held from the 24th - 27th of July 2024.

Meanwhile, the first leg of the 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS Festival will kick off in Dubai on the 2nd of December.
