Fiji Men’s 7s coach Ben Gollings

As the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side prepares for a new season of the HSBC SVNS festival (formerly known as HSBC World 7s Series), head coach Ben Gollings has revealed that they have developed a strong squad especially as they prepare for the Paris Olympics next year.

In an interview with fijivillage news, Gollings says they also have targeted players that they are looking to bring in.

He says there are a lot of quality players that they would like to bring in but it would not make any sense to bring in a whole new squad for the Olympics because performance is based on the culture of the team and working together as well.

Gollings says there is a plan and strategy in place as they develop for the next 10 months.

The Olympics 7s is scheduled to be held from the 24th - 27th of July 2024. Meanwhile, the first leg of the 2023-2024 World Sevens Series will kick off in December in Dubai.
