People of Tabia, Labasa will now enjoy a more accessible and vibrant space for worship and cultural activities following the completion of the newly constructed Garam Pani Shiv Mandir.
The project was made possible through the Multi-Ethnic Grant Programme, which supports community-based organisations in upgrading their facilities.
Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Charan Jeath Singh officially commissioned the temple and highlighted its importance as a sacred space for the community.
He says the site has been a place of worship since the 1940s, originally maintained by local villagers before becoming the responsibility of the Shree Sanatan Dharam Sabha Tabia in recent years.
He adds that the new temple will make it easier for devotees to practise their faith and ensure that religious and community life remain inclusive and lively.
The Ministry contributed $5,441.02 towards the construction, while the community generously covered the remaining costs.
