The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side lost to France 24-21 in their first match of the second leg of the Fiji Airways Mini International 7s this morning.

France took an early 12-0 lead at halftime before scoring another try in the opening minutes of the second half to extend their lead to 17-0.

Fijiana 7s speedster Younis Bese scored Fiji's first try with the conversion successful to trail 17-7.

France extended their lead with another converted try before the Fijiana side pulled two more converted tries for the final score but that was not enough to beat France.

The Fijiana side will take on the NZ Black Ferns at 12.50pm in their second game.

In other results, the Black Ferns beat Aussie Gold 25-14 while Aussie Green beat USA 17-5.
